Tips

To design SCON XTB106 advanced recessed magnetic track lighting system, these components MUST be have:

Driver. INPUT: 110V AC. OUTPUT: 48V DC. Dimmable or Non-dimmable.Track ＆ Rail-with cable. To connect to driver.Track ＆ Rail-no cable (if you need more than 100cm/39.37inch track ＆ rail). To connect to tracks.Track lighting heads (48V).

This system can be supplied to dining room, living Room, hallway, office, etc. For the complexity of dimmable system’s installation, please read the instructions carefully and install it with the support of a professional lighting installation electrician.Search “SCON XTB106” to choose your components. XTB106 track is only compatible with XTB106 track lighting heads; vice versa.

XTB106 system has 4 dimming methods to select: TRIAC, 0-10V, DALI only dimming, DALI adjustable brightness and CCT. This system can also be non-dimmable; so, XTB106 track has more compatibility than XTB028 track.XTB106 track & corner joint and 48V DC output driver are both applicable to all four dimming methods.Different dimming lamp heads can not be mixed together, unless your dimming system supports the mix.

Warnning: If your ceiling has been finished, this system can’t be installed unless rebuilding your ceiling.

You must have at least one power driver which outputing 48V DC. The total carrying power of the driver cannot exceed 80% of its rated power. UL certified dimming driver, support a variety of dimming methods. Specific dimming methods need to be matched with corresponding dimmer switches and corresponding accessories. Please read the introduction on the page carefully. Tracks can be easily connected to each other, but one driver can power up to 12 meters of total track length, otherwise a separate combination of driver and tracks needs to be created. With this component, two tracks are connected horizontally at right angles to each other. With this component, two tracks are connected at right angles to each other vertically.

Compatible with Driver C or Driver A.Mono-CCT DALI just needs 48V lighting heads – non built-in dimmable driver, being compatible with Driver C.Multi-CCT DALI needs the special 48V lighting heads – built-in DALI dimmable driver, and the Driver C should be substituted by Driver A.Besides, DALI system needs DALI dimmer switch and DALI bus power supply. But they can make the dimming method more precise and personalized.

Sketchy Steps of Installation

Step 1

Make a slot with 50mm wide and 60mm deep for placing and securing the track.Cut off the power.Connect the rails with connectors, and then fasten them to the main runner together.Connect the driver, dimming switch (and bus power supply, if DALI) and the tracks.

Step 2

Power on. Test if the track is working by track lighting heads. This step is very IMPORTANT, otherwise the gypsum board needs to be disassembled for inspecting and replacing tracks later.

Step 3

Covering of both sides of the tracks.

Step 4

Install your favorite light heads. A beautiful magnetic track light system appears.

Choosing Correct Dimming Method

NOTICE

Due to the complexity of the dimming system, please install and use it with the support of a PROFESSIONAL ELECTRICIAN.Both track and driver are suitable for TRIAC, 0-10V and DALI dimming methods. Note that according to the product title to distinguish whether the lamp head built-in dimming driver to decide whether to external dimming driver, that is, if the lamp head has built-in dimming driver then the system does not need external dimming driver (just needs non-dimmable driver), otherwise, you need an external dimming driver to achieve dimming.SCON XTB106 system doesn’t include dimming switch or DALI bus power supply , but it’s compatible with most types of dimming switch and bus power supply.

TRIAC: Large market share, high compatibility and easy installation. However, it is simple in function and the LED driver power supply may generate audio noise, and the LED lights may flicker.0-10V10 V is the brightest, and 0 V is turned off. Almost all products from OKT Lighting support 0-10V dimming. 1-10V does not have a switch function, and could not adjust the fixtures to the lowest closing effect.DALIAdvantagesDALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is an internationally-recognized lighting control communication protocol.Digital dimming, dimming accurate, stable and smooth.
